Effective from 2023, most travelers entering Malaysia are required to complete the Malaysia Digital Arrival Card (MDAC) before their journey. This digital form is a pre-arrival declaration that assists immigration authorities in verifying traveler details before arrival.
What is the MDAC?
The MDAC is an electronic entry registration form that collects basic information about your trip, including your passport number, travel dates, and port of entry. It is part of Malaysia's streamlined border processing system to improve traveler experience and national security.
Who Should Fill the MDAC?
- All foreign travelers entering Malaysia by air, sea, or land (except permanent residents and long-term pass holders).
- Nationals of visa-free countries as well as those arriving with valid visas.
- Children and infants traveling with their parents must also be declared.
Important Guidelines:
- Submit the MDAC within 3 days before your scheduled arrival.
- Ensure the passport details exactly match your travel document.
- The MDAC is not a visa and must be submitted separately.
- Carry a digital or printed acknowledgment for immigration verification.
